Rabbi Michel and Chani Gurkov arrived in Wayne, New Jersey in 1991 to establish the Chabad Center of Passaic County under the leadership of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. The Center is guided by the idea that there should be a place where everyone can feel at home, within a Jewish community. Open exploration is OUR key, not background or affiliation.
The Center is a place where Judaism is celebrated joyfully and meaningfully; where Judaism sheds relevant perspective to our daily lives. We offer a wide range of learning, connection, and outreach venues for all ages; where experience is paramount and questions are encouraged and embraced!
Located in Wayne, New Jersey, and serving the surrounding Passaic County and Upper Passaic County, our Center is premised on the idea that every individual has an indispensable contribution to make to the totality of the human experience.
In 2018, Rabbi Mayer and Chanie Gurkov moved to Wayne to expand Chabad's efforts specifically focusing on youth, teens, and young families. Through an array of innovative programming they are bringing Judaism alive for the next generation.
Let’s do our part in transforming this world and revealing only good!
